Professor Stephen Naculich delivers the LaCasce Family Professor of Natural Sciences Inaugural Lecture. The lecture “Simplicity and Complexity” focuses on the search for the fundamental laws of physics.
The LaCasce Family Chair of Natural Sciences was established in 2002 by Professor Emeritus Elroy O. LaCasce Jr. ’44. The fund honors Professor LaCasce’s parents, Marion Steward LaCasce and Elroy Osborne LaCasce of the Bowdoin Class of 1914. Professor LaCasce worked in the Bowdoin College department of physics for over fifty years and served as a full-time member of the faculty from 1954 to 1992.
