Smithsonian Curator Eleanor Harvey: “Darkness Visible”

Lecturer Eleanor Harvey curated the exhibition The Civil War and American Art at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, where she is senior curator. Drawing from that project, Harvey spoke at Bowdoin on Sept. 17, 2015, about the interest in darkness by American artists.

Presented in conjunction with the exhibition Night Vision: Nocturnes in American Art, 1860-1960.
